The band went with a vintage, mesquite style of recording "East/West", stepping aside from the louder / larger / heavier / crunchier approach of the day and opting for a warmer, more organic, reverb-laden sound. The ghosts are in the mix. It seems oddly appropriate that the album was recorded after-hours in an active funeral home.
